Most people know that I love all things adrenaline, so it shouldnt come as a surprise to know that I am a big car fan! If working on Fast and Furious Live didnt give that away then check out this video diary I put together from a road trip I did from the UK to Italy through Switzerland in my Alfa Romeo 4C. I was booked to be performing a Fast Live show in Zurich and decided why not drive there and enjoy all the ribbons of smooth tarmac that we lack here in the UK. We enjoyed every moment and took our time to savour it. About 4 days it took us to make our way down to Lago Maggiore in Italy before heading back to Zurich for our performance on the weekend. Im just speaking for my 4C but it was an absolute pleasure to drive, so incredibly fun and actually the most economical of the 3 cars brining in over 40 mpg on an average run! about 32 mpg when we were giving it beans which is still epic for a mini super car!
I have always loved watching top gear and I am one for a spontaneous adventure and this sure didn’t disappoint us. The Swiss pass roads were mind blowing! so smooth and winding up and down mountains made for stunning views. Most of the time there were no cars on the roads so we could feel comfortable to open the cars up and see what they were capable of. The scenery made it even more magical with fields of dandelions and beautiful waterfalls, untouched landscapes and crisp fresh mountain air.
I love the 4C because it is so rough and raw, no power steering so you get to communicate directly to the road, the carbon fibre structure is so space age and feels like your driving a real exotic. The noises the engine makes! It feels like your driving a rally race car, its somewhere in-between. It has a full heads up digital display telling you everything the car is doing which most light weight sports cars like the lotus just dont have and the duel clutch transmission is lightning fast. Also another plus to having a semi auto is it was nice and easy in the traffic and around the towns.
Jeremy Clarkson said every true petrol head has to have owned an Alfa Romeo,.. and now I see why.
I hope you enjoyed the road trip as much as we did! Maybe I might have just inspired you to get your motor and go do the same!
Live BIG!
