What an incredible opportunity to put together action sequences for the new movie Mindgamers! Director Andrew Goth and Producer/writer Joan Raey offered me the job to design the parkour sequences and run the parkour department which included coaching all of the actors and making sure they looked like seasoned pro’s when it came to putting the action down on camera. I designed a parkour structure and we had it built in a huge rehearsal stage our in Romina. I took the actors for two training sessions per day and I collaborated with members from the 3RUN team to make sure we covered all of the foundations before moving onto more advanced movements like wall flips and wall spins. I was probably most proud of the movement we created for Melia’s character who hand to run up the wall place both hands on then both feet and back flip off. It was a tall ask but with the right training and proper assistance from some well places wires we manages to get the shot perfect! I also called in good friend Pamela Forster to be the action double which allowed me to get some natural high end parkour moves on screen for Melia’s character Stella.
Here is a very quick Previz I put together on my iphone to show the director some moves and how they could be filmed.
