Infinite – Stunt doubling Mark Wahlberg for the first time
From Lights, Camera, Action to Adrenaline Rush: My Journey as Mark Wahlberg’s Stunt Double in “Infinite”
Being a stunt double is often an unsung hero’s job in the film industry. While the actors bask in the limelight, the brave souls performing those daring stunts often remain hidden behind the scenes. I was fortunate enough to step into the shoes of Mark Wahlberg as his stunt double during the making of the action-packed film “Infinite.” In this blog post, I will take you behind the scenes to share the physically demanding and rewarding experience of working alongside a Hollywood A-lister.
Endless Training and Preparation:
I spent months honing my skills in various disciplines, including parkour, martial arts, skydiving and combat training. The process was grueling, but the thrill of getting one step closer to bringing Mark Wahlberg’s character to life on screen was worth every drop of sweat. We even had a skydiving fight scene to do which thankfully I was already a qualified skydiver but this pushed my abilities to the limit. We did have two world champions join us to step in and turn up the heat!
As the filming commenced, so did the adrenaline-pumping challenges. “Infinite” was not a film that held back on action scenes. From heart-pounding chases to breathtaking fight sequences in a rotating plane, each day on set tested my physical limits. The long hours were exhausting, but the knowledge that my performance contributed significantly to the movie’s authenticity and excitement fuelled my determination.
Working closely with Mark Wahlberg and the rest of the cast and crew created a unique bond. I was entrusted with ensuring Mark’s safety during intense stunts, and in turn, he trusted me to deliver the best performance possible. This mutual reliance created an unbreakable camaraderie, reminding me that I was part of something greater than just a movie – I was part of a team, working together to make magic on the silver screen.
Stunt work is not for the faint-hearted. Throughout the production of “Infinite,” I confronted my fears repeatedly, whether it was jumping from great heights with a samurai or executing complex fight choreography in a huge spinning washing machine. Every stunt demanded mental fortitude, as I had to suppress any doubts and focus solely on delivering the best performance possible. Overcoming these challenges instilled a newfound confidence that transcended my professional life.
The most rewarding aspect of being Mark Wahlberg’s stunt double was seeing the final product on the big screen. Witnessing the culmination of months of hard work, sweat, and dedication was an overwhelming feeling.
Being Mark Wahlberg’s stunt double in “Infinite” was an experience that pushed me to my limits and beyond. The physically demanding work and long hours were challenging, but the sense of accomplishment and camaraderie with the cast and crew made it all worthwhile. Stepping into the shoes of a Hollywood action star allowed me to face my fears, grow as a professional, and be part of an extraordinary journey. I knew that being a stunt double was not just a job – it was a thrilling adventure that I would cherish forever.
